Cockerham Annual Village Show
Cockerham is gearing itself up for the 46th Annual Village Show to be held in the Village Hall on Saturday 9th August. The organising Committee have been working hard over the last few months to put together a schedule which will appeal to everyone whatever their age, ability and interest. There are classes for flowers, vegetables, art, crafts, cookery, floral art & photography; there are lots of classes for children to enter.

Schedules are available from the following telephone numbers 01995 604270, 01524 751384 and 01524 751442. The closing date for entries is 1pm on Wednesday 6th August.

Judging takes place on the morning of the Show Day then the doors will open to the public between 2pm & 4pm with admission just 50p. As an added attraction there will again be a wine tasting stall after the success of last year. With many varieties of wine available to sample, there is then the opportunity to buy any that suit the palate particularly well! Refreshments of the more traditional kind will be available.

The 2008 Show President is Councillor Helen Helme who will be familiar to many in the locality after having been the 2007-2008 Mayor of Lancaster. A popular end to the day's proceedings is the Presentation of Trophies to the prize winners.

Cockerham Show brings together people of all ages who enjoy taking part, looking round the exhibits, meeting up with old friends and making new friends but the Committee hopes that most of all it will be a fun day for all.
