Housing and Development

Village Response:

Only 2.03% requested large family homes, 6.09% requested housing for the elderly14.72% no housing needed, 0.51% requested executive homes 35.53% showed that there is a need for housing for young people, 63.45% showed clearly there is a definite need for affordable housing for first time buyers for local people.

Conclusion

From the results of the questionnaire it is quite clear that there is a need for affordable housing in Cockerham for LOCAL people. These are people who have been born and bred in the area and for people who have businesses locally which provide benefits and employment for the community which itself helps to sustain the local economy and also quality of services.

Further work liaising with Lancaster City Council is needed to raise awareness of the needs of the Parish
