Consultation Process

The process of developing this ’Rural Future’ began in 2003 when the Parish Council and local residents formed a steering group to oversee the proceedings.

A grant was awarded by the Countryside Agency to fund the Parish Plan. Consultation began with ‘star charts‘ being displayed at various village events over the summer, including the Donkey Derby and Sports Day. Residents placed gold, silver and coloured stars on the charts to indicate their concerns.

Next came a questionnaire which was sent to every person of 11 years and above asking about concerns and aspirations for our village. 197 replies were received. Local businesses and organisations were also asked for their input.

Following the consultation process, an open evening was held to publish the results, to which all residents were invited. The plan, as published in the following pages, is a direct result of the consultation process and highlights concerns and needs of the village so as to build a stronger
future for the community.
